They met as two PR assistants sitting in neighboring cubicles. Both from small New England towns, Tessa often shared her free coffee-cart donuts with Larry (better him than her!) and Larry thoughtfully gave her a box of hot chocolate for her birthday (since she was often cold in the air conditioned office). It was a drawn out courtship, but they eventually started dating and fell in love. 7 years later after a few new jobs, residing on two different coasts, and adopting a new puppy - Larry popped the question on the roof top of their DUMBO, BK apartment. They couldn't be happier and look forward to celebrating their special day with all of you!

Larry decided to recreate their first date on their apartment roof top for the proposal! On their first date, Larry invited Tessa to Grimaldi's Pizza in DUMBO, Brooklyn (the best pizza in NY). At this time Tessa had never been to Brooklyn before, so of course she got lost after getting off the subway and somehow ended up on the Brooklyn Bridge! Luckily Larry saved her from walking back to Manhattan and guided her safely to the pizza joint. Since this was a popular spot, they waited in line for almost 2 hours and killed time by taking "selfies" with a disposable camera (see this "selfie" at the top of this page - first one in the gallery!). The pizza was perfect, the company was wonderful and Larry even treated Tessa to an ice cream cone at the Brooklyn Ice Cream factory on Pier 1. This area was perfect for a first date -- little did they know then that they'd be living just down the street at the place where they'd get engaged 7 years later.
On Friday January 9, 2015, Larry spent most of this chilly day running around to prepare for the big moment. He managed to get a table cloth from Grimaldi's to put on one of the roof top tables. He framed the old school "selfie" the two took while waiting in line and picked up a beautiful bouquet to decorate the table while he popped the question. Larry managed to stage the scene and set up his two iPhones and GoPro to snap photos and capture video by 5pm. All there was to do was wait - in the 20 degree cold - for Tessa to get home from work by 6pm. After a couple subtle yet odd texts from Larry asking when she was getting home from work so they could run errands, Tessa finally arrived home to find Larry wasn't there. So she called him... "Honey! You have to come up here! There's a fire on the FDR with smoke everywhere"...."huh?"..."Just come up on the roof you have to see this"..."ok"...(click). Normally Tess is a bit apprehensive about the roof - especially in the cold - but since her coat and boots where still on, she figured "why not?!". Welp, once stepping out of the elevator and seeing this beautiful set up through the glass door (which she almost busted through after forgetting about the fob lock) she was speechless...The set up, the beautiful NYC skyline and the moment was absolutely perfect. Another great memory in DUMBO, Brooklyn for Tess and Lar to keep.
